Musíme říct, že tentokrát nám opravdu velmi pomohl povedený handling a Pavla s Freddym plně zúročili tréninky v TDH Academy a celkově nasbírané zkušenosti.

Tedy za námi … hlavně přijeli fandit všem našim bíglíkům v čele s Kingem (King Weinlinie z Negraland) – taťkou Attily i Jerryho.
No a King to opět dokázal, poslouchal svoji paničku Lenku Frnčovou a společně za deště vybojovali ve třídě šampionů V1, CAC, CACIB a BOB. Nakonec v závěrečkách i BIG v FCI sk. VI. Moooc gratulujeme!

CACIB Leipzig (DE) – 7.9.2025
How can I put it – simply disastrous!
Yes, we were warned that it was pointless to register Freddy at his current stage of development with the renowned judge Mr. Eberhardt, but we didn't listen. And that's how it turned out.
Hugo clearly wanted to "stick with" Freddy in his own way, so he remembered the period when he made a big mess and showed his owner that walking with him in the ring is not for just anyone :-), so he didn't sell his obvious strengths this time. At times, it looked like they would be disqualified, but in the end, they left with a VG2 rating (out of 3), but perhaps it would have been better if they had withdrawn.
So, this trip to Germany wasn't a success, but we did have a nice lunch stop in Chomutov and got home in the afternoon. -
2x CACIB and 1xCAC in Lucerne (CH) – 30.8.-31.8.2025
Exhibition weekend abroad – Hugo and his owner are taking home another CAC for the Swiss championship, unfortunately only one (we prefer not to comment on the quality and fairness of Sunday's judging), so he will have to return to Switzerland once more to win the Swiss championship.
Together with their owner, they fought their way to third place in Senior Handling (out of seven participants) on Sunday. Yes, we tried our hand at handling competition.and we obviously received in TDH Team & Academy very good training, and the Czech judge was a big surprise for us. It is a pity that this type of competition is not held at Czech national and international shows (although there are already some signs of it at regional shows in Provodovice and also at international shows in Nitra, Slovakia). So we'll see when one of our junior handlers dares to take their headstrong beagle to a junior handling competition.
On Saturday, Freddy achieved two times Excellent 3 ratings, and we were particularly pleased with the afternoon assessment. Unfortunately, on Sunday, our concerns about the selection and evaluation of the junior class were confirmed once again, with head and lip size being prioritized over overall correct and solid body structure.

Interdog Bohemia Mladá Boleslav – 23.8.2025
Before the next exhibition weekend begins, here are the results from the Interdog Bohemia International Exhibition in Mladá Boleslav – Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) introduced himself with his excellent handler Ester Miháleková and in the intermediate class they received V1 and CAC (out of 2) with their usual excellent performance.
Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland) was handled by the amazing young junior handler Anna Plundrová, and despite strong competition, they earned a VG3 rating (out of 4). We are amazed at how well Annie handles Freddy and shows him off beautifully.
We are very happy with them and thank them both for not giving up on their headstrong beagles.
Judge: Bryan Mangelsdorf (AUS)
Unfortunately, Freddy is entering a period of uncertain results. He needs more time to grow into his final form, which is aimed at the center of the breed standard, and is therefore currently at a disadvantage compared to his already overgrown colleagues in the junior class. -
Freddy at exhibitions in Moszczenica (Poland) – 16.-17.8.2025
Over the weekend, Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland) and his owner went on another long trip to Poland. Although we went there mainly as supporters, we still hoped for slightly better results than we ultimately achieved. Unfortunately, the competition from large-headed and physically large to oversized juniors, some with extreme lips, was too great, and even though no problems were identified in the evaluations and Freddy performed well, he was placed last with one exception. It is quite a pity that the breed standard represented by extremely large individuals is moving in this direction. We will see if time will prove us right in the adult categories and return the perception of the beagle breed standard to where it belongs.

Freddy at Regional show Hubertka in Bordovice – 26.7.2025
After all those international and club shows we made ourselves happy and went with Freddy to the Regional show in Bordovice together with our friends, which meant not only participation in the show itself, but also a nice weekend in Moravia.
Originally we were very curious about the opinion of the judge from Slovakia, who was also nominated for the judging FCI Group VI at the show, but in the end the judging of the beagle breed fell on the Czech judge Mrs. Lenka Fairaislová.
Freddy wanted this time to show off in front of his much more experienced dog friends and show who is the new raising show star. He showed himself beautifully both in the basic ring and in the wet grass in the final competitions (and he really didn't like the grass and wet grass after rain until recently). So he rightly got not only a nice judgement, the evaluation Exc. 1 and Winner of the junior class of the breed, but he was also selected in a great competition of young dogs of all breeds to the final five and finally won even 2nd place in the competition for the best junior.. And he even posed on the podium 🙂 We are very happy with him and we are looking forward to more show trips.
The organisers of the show should also be singled out – perfect large, flat, grassy rings, super refreshments and also suitable facilities clearly supported a great day. It is obvious that we will want to come back. Oh, and also – it's a show called Hubertka, which makes it clear that hunting dogs and hunting in general are top of mind here!

junior class – Exc. 1, Winner of junior class

2nd place – Best Junior of the Show
Judge: Anna Kochan (PL)
PS: Hugo stayed at home and supervised the preparation of a new independent dog living – an outdoor house. After all, he is an adult hunting dog and his carefree time at home is slowly coming to the end. Freddy won't let him down, of course, and they will soon be living in the outdoor house together. -
Hugo at NDS in Mladá Boleslav – 19.7.2025
In order to show Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) at shows in the Czech Republic, we have planned national and international grass shows at home this summer. The second, and much more successful, show was the National show in Mladá Boleslav. Hugo and his owner went to the show alone (Freddy and his owner competed in Hungary) and of course also Hugo's handler Ester Miháleková was there (it looks like Hugo finally found the right "show girl" and now we will see him regularly in her hands).
Together they did very well, the nice performance was duly appreciated both by verbal evaluation and by winning Exc. 1 and CAC in intermediate class. In the final fight for the National Winner they have not succeeded yet, but everything has its time.
Anyway, Hugo started another, this time domestic, adult championship. It's his eighth in a row, so he'll have a lot of work to do in the next year to finally collect them all 🙂 For many of them we are basically waiting for the next show season or some other time limiting rule, but for 20 months of age a pretty good result. -
Freddy is Hungária Junior Champion – 3x CACIB Sárvár (Hungary) – 17.-19.7.2025
Freddy (Piccolino z Negraland) went to Hungary with his owner at the last minute. Hugo (Néreus Hare and Hounds) stayed at home because he was participating in the National Dog Show in Mladá Boleslav on Saturday.
The 3x CACIB in the spa town of Sárvár had an unusual format of evening and night shows. The judging began at 7 p.m., promising better weather (lower temperatures), but we were very curious to see how it would look, how the show would proceed in the late hours after dark, and especially how Freddy would react.
Fortunately, beagles were on the agenda in the first part of the judging, i.e. between 7 and 8 p.m., so we were still running around in the ring while it was still light outside. We were very curious to see how Freddy would be evaluated by the judges, and although no written evaluations were provided at the show, to the credit of all the judges we met, they communicated their evaluations quite extensively verbally, either in Slovak or English. We would like to thank all three judges – Jozef Jursa (SK), Borsfaj Csaba (HU), and Enrico Drudi (SMR) – it was great to meet them in the ring!
We don't really speak Hungarian, so we didn't understand a word the staff in the circle were saying :-), but we are quite experienced when it comes to exhibitions, so we kind of know how things work (and studying the catalog wasn't too much work this time).
The evaluation of our Freddy was more positive than expected. He performed very well, even tolerating the less than ideal grass cover and not being distracted by the circle, which was uphill (or downhill when entering the circle). In the final battles for the best individual of the breed, he easily defeated the best junior female (so there was competition after all) and fought a fair fight with the best adult female, who had a slight advantage. However, the overall results are absolutely fabulous, and after three days of the show, Freddy took home his first junior championship – Hungária Junior Champion.
We decided not to wait for the final competition for the best junior of the show, as it was scheduled for the very end of the final competitions, which was well after midnight.
Grandma (i.e., the owner's mother) also joined us on the trip, and she thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition.

National Show in Klatovy – 28.6.2025
We didn't want to go to the National Show in Klatovy at first. In the end, we couldn't resist and entered Hugo at the last minute... but we shouldn't have done it. After a very demanding month-long program, which included the International Show in Radom (Poland), the Club Show in Kovalovice (Czech Republic), a tripleheader – two International Shows and a Club Show in Nitra (Slovakia), four days of hunting training in Austria, and a five-day active stay with our friend Jerry in Zlín, he simply decided that it was all too much. Not that he was being naughty, but he was dragging his feet. The weather – sweltering heat – didn't help either. Neither did the surface of the Sokol Stadium with its potholes and poorly mowed grass. And to top it all off, the judge's assessment was rather lax, as once again (for the umpteenth time this year at the Czech National Show!) the assessment did not include an inspection on the show table. So this time, even the professional presentation by handler Ester Miháleková didn't help, and the result is V2, res. CAC in the intermediate class. Yes, it's not a bad result, but... we're a little scared of what will happen at the next National Show in Mladá Boleslav. Maybe they won't even run in the ring anymore?
Fortunately, we enjoyed lunch at our favorite restaurant in Loděnice, and my wife was able to make it to her work weekend without any problems.
At least the owner took some nice photos, and yes, the show table was there, but it wasn't used by the judges.
